The heart of the AQuA experience lies in Gallery 2,
a round room with 360° projection screens that
immerse the visitors in a dreamlike world.
The narrative thread is accompanied by interactive
effects and video sequences, leading to a
poetic, emotional rendering of the global water
situation.
The centre of the room holds a stone well with
a pump from which water is flowing. The lighting
on the screens and the visitors are in sync with
the beat of the music. The overall effect conveys
a feeling of abundance and oneness with the
source of life. Then the water stops flowing......
The water laps at the screens. The participants
find themselves in the middle of a large body
of water. An interactive effect lets them activate
and play with the virtual waves that they can
swirl on the screens. The music is playful, up
until the very end of the interactive sequence,
when things take a dramatic turn as the water
suddenly transforms into a fast-moving whirlpool.
it is a moment of imbalance and excitement before
the visitors find themselves under water—a setting
designed to foster calmness and reflection—
for the continuation of the experience.
